I’m Tanya, a commercial photographer, videographer, and content creator, currently based in Sussex. I have a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Photography from Arts University Bournemouth, where I specialised in advertising and still life. During my studies, I collaborated with students from Fashion, Film, Hair and Make-Up, Textiles, and Theatre, building a diverse portfolio of work that honed my skills in both studio and on-location photography.
I’ve always been passionate about creating images that tell a story or elevate a brand, whether it’s through a detailed product shot or a cinematic video. While at university, I balanced my studies with working at Pause Cat Café, where I not only worked as a barista but also managed their social media, creating visual and written content to boost engagement.

Professional Experience
Tanya Cressey - Camera Operator
After graduating in 2018, I continued to build my portfolio through freelance work, focusing on advertising and still-life photography. I worked with a marketing agency, photographing a beauty brand, where I developed a keen eye for beauty product photography, lighting, and styling. This experience deepened my understanding of how powerful imagery can shape consumer perception and engage audiences.
University of Sussex Graduation
When COVID-19 hit, I decided to further explore my interest in marketing, pursuing a Master’s degree in Marketing and Consumer Psychology at the University of Sussex. This course broadened my understanding of digital marketing, coding, and consumer behaviour. My dissertation allowed me to combine my photography expertise with marketing research, focusing on how imagery and context influence audience appeal.
What I Do Now
I work at Cut My, a DIY and Home Improvement company, where I bring together my skills in photography, videography, social media management, and web content creation. I photograph products for marketing campaigns, manage the company’s social media presence, and help code and create content for their website.
My Skills
I am proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premier Pro, using these tools to edit and enhance both photos and video footage. My background in both photography and marketing allows me to offer a unique perspective, whether I’m creating still images for a brand or crafting a video that tells a compelling story. I’m also well-versed in digital marketing and website content creation, enabling me to support brands in building their online presence through impactful visuals.
